ABOUT

Hi, I'm Saira

Hi! I’m Saira (rhymes with ‘Tyra’). Welcome to my little corner of the world, where I explore a variety of art forms. My name means ‘wanderer,’ and that spirit of exploration led me to travel for a year, learning skills that eventually wove into my business. That journey is why I first called it The Cosmic Wanderer Collective when I launched in 2019.

In Spring 2024, we rebranded to SAIRA Studios to reflect fresh new offerings. Today, SAIRA Studios serves as the retail arm of SAIRA Creative, a consulting and public art firm dedicated to helping people feel more connected to each other and their neighborhoods. At the studio, you’ll find hair shimmers, custom henna, and hand-painted artwork—all designed to spark joy, self-expression, and connection.

And really, aren’t those things we could all use a little more of?

How We Have Grown

What started in 2019 as a mobile henna and hair shimmer business has now grown into a brick-and-mortar art studio in Buffalo! I (Saira) learned henna as a kid, deepened my craft in India, and came back inspired to share it with others. The shimmers? A friend nudged me to bring them to Buffalo from a town in Eastern Oregon (where I once lived), and wow—did they take off!

In 2021, we opened up our first brick and mortar location at the historic Niagara Frontier Food Terminal. Here, we expanded into a full-fledged art studio! Alongside personal adornment, we’ve expanded into painting, community art projects, and murals.

See you soon,
Saira

Meet the Shimmer Squad

Song has spent over a decade in the classroom as a dedicated school teacher — actually, make that two classrooms! When she’s not teaching, you can find her bringing the music on flute and sax with Randle and the Late Night Scandal.

Lexi is a swimmer, dog lover, and all-around bundle of good energy. She works at a doggy daycare and often brings her dachshund, Wrenlee, along to the studio for extra cuteness.

Chantelle is the artist behind Pink Me Ink, her tattoo studio where she creates the cutest, most magical designs. She’s also an amazing dancer and performer — catch her with Underground Blo at the hottest parties around town.

Alisa is a yogi, creative spirit, and social media marketing guru for the team. With roots in yoga training, time spent in California, and her work as a manager at Breathe, she brings calm, creativity, and connection to everything she does.

And of course, here’s Saira! Creator of Saira Studios, she discovered fairy hair deep in the mountains of Eastern Oregon and brought the magic back to Buffalo. The rest is shimmer history. ✨

Getting to the studio

Find me at 1500 Clinton Street in the historic Niagara Frontier Food Terminal (learn more about the NFFT here). Go in door 177, and up to the second floor, suite 201.

Please note: If using Google Maps, GPS ‘Chateau Buffalo Winery’ to be directed to the exact location (and yes! There really is a winery on the first floor of my building – they are open for tastings Fridays and Saturdays).

If using Apple Maps, GPS 1509 Clinton Street. The entrance to the food terminal is across from 1509. Park near the fire hall and enter through door 177.
